In all of the most recent iPhone models, GPS features have played a key role in the functionality of the device. Not only does your iPhone use the GPS feature for the Maps app, but there is a wide range of third-party apps which utilize the GPS feature (such as apps which track how far you have been running). Because of this, it’s important to fix iPhone 6 GPS not working if you experience problems.

GPS problems are harder to deal with than some of the other iOS problems that people run into which is why so many iOS users struggle to fix it. However, in today’s article, we are going to be discussing some of the best fixes available which will undoubtedly fix the problem that you are experiencing.

Fix #1 – Check Your Signal
The first thing that you should do is check if your iPhone has a signal or not. If you don’t have a signal or your signal is very weak, then you will not be able to use the GPS service.

This is because iPhone GPS uses your network signal to determine your location and without a signal, it isn’t able to do that.

Fix #2 – Check Your Location Services
The next thing to do is check your iPhone’s location services. You can do this by simply opening the “Settings” application, swiping down and tapping on “Privacy“, and checking whether or not you have location services enabled.

Sometimes you will find that you have accidentally disabled it and other times it could just not be active for a certain application that you’re trying to use.

If location services are activated for the specific application, simply try disabling it and enabling it after a few seconds. Sometimes all that is needed is a refresh to make it work perfectly.

Fix #3 – Update GPS Apps
If you are trying to use a specific application on your iPhone and the GPS feature isn’t working, try updating that application through the iPhone app store.

When your iOS updates so does the GPS feature, and as a result, all iOS applications which utilize the GPS feature must update too. If you are someone who doesn’t regularly update their iOS apps (which let’s face it, this is most of us), then this is most likely the reason that you have to fix iPhone 6 GPS not working.

You can easily update all of your apps through the iOS app store.

Fix #4 – Check iPhone Network Settings
Next, you should check your iPhone network settings. Sure, you can dig deeper and manually fix the network settings yourself – however, it’s a lot easier if you reset network settings as the same outcome is achieved.

Step #1 – Take your iPhone 6, unlock it if you have to, and launch the “Settings” application to proceed.

Step #2 – From the Settings app, swipe downwards and tap on the “General” option.

Step #3 – Next, swipe down to the bottom of this menu and tap on “Reset“, followed by tapping on “Reset Network Settings“.

Step #4 – You will be asked to confirm this action, and after a few seconds, you will have reset your iPhone’s network settings back to their default.

While this is one of the fixes which you should consider a “long shot”, it’s still worth trying out. The only thing to keep in mind with this fix is that all of your Wi-Fi networks will be forgotten so you will have to re-connect your iPhone 6 to them.

Fix #5 – Soft Reset Your iPhone
If the problem is with your iPhone’s firmware then by performing a soft reset, you can fix the problem. If you don’t know how to soft reset your iPhone, then you could simply follow the short guide below.

Step #1 – Hold down the “Lock” button as well as the “Home” button at the same time.

Step #2 – Continue to hold both of these buttons down for a further 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo appear on display.

Step #3 – Once the Apple logo has appeared, you can release both of the buttons.

Step #4 – After your iPhone has fully loaded up you will be able to figure out whether or not this has helped to fix iPhone 6 GPS not working.

This simple fix is the solution to a lot of different iOS problems, and regardless of what the problem is, you’ll find that this fixes most issues.
